   Beautiful, stylish, chic. Smaller in capacity than stated.
I received this kettle yesterday and am quite pleased overall. It’s beautifully designed and looks far more expensive than it is. I’ve searched extensively for ‘healthy’ kettles without plastic parts. Unfortunately, many stainless steel products—this one included—may be coated with PFAs (“forever chemicals”), though Home Depot’s listing doesn’t mention it. I found a PFAs disclaimer for this kettle on another retailer’s page and contacted the manufacturer for clarification, but haven’t heard back. Assuming the coating is the source, I took matters into my own hands and cleaned the interior thoroughly with vinegar soaks and a baking soda paste. After several rounds, a white paper towel came away clean—no dark residue—so I feel confident the interior is now safe for use. Functionally, the kettle holds two quarts (eight cups) just below the spout. Like many brands, the 12-cup claim overstates boiling capacity—no longer a deal-breaker for me. Boiling two quarts on a medium hot plate took 28 minutes. The soft whistle is audible, the handle is comfortable, and while it warms slightly, no potholder is needed. I do wish the handle folded down for easier filling and cleaning. I’ll make a point to dry the area around the screws after each use to help prevent rust. The flip-up spout is easy to access and stays cool to the touch. There’s no stamp indicating the grade of stainless steel, and while the kettle feels lightweight, it seems durable enough. The price, especially here on Home Depot, is excellent given the overall quality of this kettle. Again, I am pleased with the purchase and hope the kettle lasts for many years.
